Coach Witt enters his first season at the helm of the Hutchison Hawks hockey program. After spending the last five years as head coach and assistant in the Arctic Lions and Fairbanks Amateur Hockey Associations, among others, Jason is excited to lead this season’s team.

A Fairbanks, Alaska native, the upcoming season will be Coach Witt’s sixth season as a youth coach. Under his tutelage he has seen numerous former players go on to higher level competition both in-state and outside.  Prior to his arrival as head coach of the Hutchison Hawks, Jason served as Head Coach with the Fairbanks Arctic Lions 18u competitive program.  Under the guidance of Coach Witt, his teams have consistently been recognized for fair play, sportsmanship and solid community representation in out of area tournaments and games.

As a former competitive hockey and high school player himself, Coach Witt understands the importance of the togetherness of a team. “I am, Because we are!” is Coach Witt’s personal motto and it is a testament to his coaching style to stress the importance of team building while recognizing no one player is more important than the team.

Off the ice, Jason has schooling in business administration with an emphasis on marketing and is the Assistant Vice President of a local lender here in Fairbanks.
